Kitchen Light

Out of the two lights in our eat-in kitchen, we replaced one light so far.

It's funny, because we put it up, it went up nice and easy, but there was ceiling missing. It looks like a previous owner must have had a ceiling fan up once. The hole was just too big.

Fast forward to browsing the lighting department at Lowes, we see medallions we love. We already had a small, 8" medallion for the other kitchen light, where my chandelier is going to go. We spotted these decorative, 13.5" ones and picked up 2, since I like them better than the plainer, smaller one from the Home Depot and because voila! No more missing ceiling!

Poor Guy. The medallion blocked where the screws needed to be. His arms were about to fall off and he was sweating. Not a happy camper. In the end, though, it looks slick!

From that to this!
Woo!

Our new light is the Hampton Bay 4-Light Brushed Steel Wave Bar Track Lighting Fixture with Cylinder Glass Shades.  It throws around a ton more light, is positionable and... NO GOLD LEAVES!
