Before & After: Master Bathroom

Trying to show off the house via my blog to extended family over the holidays was kind of a pita because of how spastically I blog, and how randomized my picture placement is, so I'll be doing a before and after for each room we've tackled.

Before - how we got the bathroom


Right before demolition

Pedestal sink, ugly square tile

Stained, funky, outdated

Removing tile we find Green Board... and insect damage & rot behind that

2 of 3 walls out

insect and water damage under window sill

cutting old rotten studs

new insulation and studs in, all tile and Green Board removed

Ripping up the floor and taking 1/2" cement board up too

sink removed

cement board was too thick, replaced with 1/4"

tile, cement board, linoleum, MORE linoleum

the final layer

1/2" Durock on wall, 1/4" Durock on floors

Durock on walls, cubbies added, marble sill removed

Durock on the floor, our floor was lowered over 1/4"

Laying down 12x24 large format tile

Same tile going on walls... Madness

And decorative tile on plumbing wall and opposite for shelves

Silver Tip 12 in. x 12 in.

Guy installs 2 waterproof lights in the ceiling

Shower surround finished sans grout

Our grout color is "New Taupe"
